Steering Committee

A CID's establishment process is run by the Steering Committee who are property owners within the proposed boundary. Who are motivated to ensure the rendering of supplementary services to the benefit of all property owners within the boundary.

The Steering Committee follow the prescribed process to establish a CID, being overseen at every step of the way by the dedicated CID department at the City of Cape Town.

Assuming the CID is successfully established, it will be incorporated as a non-profit company (NPC) whose first Members Meeting (or AGM) will be held within six months of its incorporation.

The Steering Committee members serve as founding directors until that meeting at which the new Board is elected; nominees must be members of the NPC. The Board then go on to elect a Chair and allocate portfolios.
