The Establishment process of a CID is comprehensive, with a number of milestones that require completion before the process can move along. These milestones are strictly in accordance with the COCT by-laws pertaining to the establishment of a CID. Below we have summarised the most consequential milestones, in an effort to keep the community up to date on the progress.

Create Steering Committee

Define geographic area

Engage with CCT CID Branch

Confirm >95% of homeowners are in good standing with respect to rates account

Establish a website and Facebook page

Conduct a survey of residents

Prepare a business plan, budget & implementation plan

Present budget and plans to community at first public meeting for feedback

Revise plan if necessary based on feedback

Present revised plan at second public meeting

Community votes on whether to establish the CID; >60% required in favour
